Being in India is a lifetime opportunityBeing in India is a lifetime opportunity

NEW DELHI: Elated over her first-of-its-kind experience in the country, Lawn Bowler Lynsey Armitage has said, “Being in India is a lifetime opportunity.” Australia Chef de Mission Steve Monoghetti has also expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided to the athletes and delegates of his country at the Commonwealth Games Village here, reports The Hindu.
“We are working very hard. We have brought the largest team from Australia. We are enjoying a comfortable life in the Village,” Monoghetti told Australian media.
Australian athletes also appreciated the food, transport and security being provided to them by organisers here.
“It has been pretty good. The dining hall is fantastic, it is same as Melbourne. And the security is top notch out here. I feel completely safe and secure,” Armitage added.
The facilities also impressed Australia’s Press Attache, John Gartfield.
“We are really very happy with the facilities. The Commonwealth Games Village is superb. Dining area, practice venues, residential complexes are really better. Our athletes are not facing any problem here,” said Gartfield.
He said about 100 athletes had already checked in at the Village and about 250 more would be descending in the capital in the next three-four days. - The Hindu/PTI
